Beautiful Beaches

One of the glorious things about the Yorkshire Coast is the breathtaking beaches, as well as the spectacular sea scenery

(Try saying that after a holiday tipple...) Salty Dog at Filey offers you the opportunity to explore the wonders of the Filey coastline. And with direct access to the beach from the site, you don't even need to drive there to appreciate it.

You can even walk along the beach to Filey (as long as the tide is out), it should take around 30 minutes and that seems like a long enough walk to earn some proper seaside Fish and Chips on the way back.

The beaches are great for children - for fossil hunting, rock pools teaming with life, donkeys, sandcastles, kite flying, picnics, paddling and many other fabulous activities that are so much more fun when you're on holiday.

The dog-friendliness of beaches depends what time of year it is, as you'd expect. The main Filey beach doesn't allow dogs between May and September, but there is a year-round dog friendly beach north of the lifeboat house.

You can check the tide times in Filey here, and there's more information about local beaches and attractions here.
